Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a long-term (chronic) disease that causes repeated seizures due to abnormal electrical signals produced by damaged brain cells. Seizures can include changes to your awareness, muscle control (your muscles may twitch or jerk), sensations, emotions and behavior. Although epilepsy can’t be cured, many treatment options are available. Up to 70% of people with epilepsy can manage the disease with medications.

At Neurologik Clinic, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy.

    • Blood tests to detect signs of infections, genetic conditions or other conditions that may be associated with seizures.

    • You also may have brain imaging tests and scans such as Electroencephalogram (EEG), a CT scan, MRI or other imaging techniques to detect any changes in the brain
